What is Groovy Garbage?
Groovy Garbage uses materials destined
for the landfill to design and create unique,
durable fashion and home accessories!
We use up cycled inner tubes, repurposed
signs and banners, salvaged beach chair
fabric, and an ever changing array of
“What goes around comes around”
This is the universal law of Karma!
We believe in bringing it full circle! We use
what is traditionally classified as garbage as
the raw materials for the base of all of
our designs and creations!
Who are we?
We are a husband and wife team.
My name is Richie and my wife’s name
is Jane. We both have full time careers;
I am a Cardiovascular Technologist. Jane
is a Dental Hygienist.
Where does it come from?
All of the raw materials are salvaged locally in
North Myrtle Beach. This is also where each
piece is handmade!
Did you know?
That Groovy Garbage strives to educate the
public on recycling and green initiatives.
That inner tubes will never completely break down!
They only break down into smaller pieces!
It is estimated that in the U.S. there are
roughly 3,091 active landfills and 10,000 old ones.
There is an estimated 251 million tons of consumer
waste generated each year in the U.S. alone!
Groovy Garbage promotes conservation and environmental stewardship by repurposing garbage into groovy, eco friendly, functional products for sale and donation to individuals, local/national non profits and government agencies to foster recycling education initiatives.
